GENERAL DESCRIPTION
|
Data
analysis of state of the art genomic scale microarrays gets more
and more impractical or even impossible to perform on commonly used
workstations due to the vast amount of data. CPU performance, amount
of memory and costs are the limiting factors. Therefore memory and
calculation intensive tasks have to be outsourced to high performance
servers with a sufficient amount of memory.
Genesis Server is an application server for computation of Hierarchical
Clustering, Self Organizing Maps (SOM), k-means Clustering and Support
Vector Machines (SVM).
Data analysis is prepared in our well established Genesis Client
and the jobs are distributed to an available server, where the calculation
is started and results are stored until they are fetched by the
client. At all times the client is informed about status and progress
of the calculation task. Nevertheless all server jobs are completely
independent from the client, so the client may be turned off during
calculation and restarted again later to get the computed results |
