To bring this project into fruition we have divided
the software into two parts:
1) Standalone-Application (eSCID)
2) Web-Application
(eSCID-Web)
In order to enter data in the database the user is required to install the
standalone application (eSICD) on a desktop PC or notebook. As this application
was written in JAVA it will run on all operating systems which support JAVA
(Mac OSX, Windows, LINUX). After installing the software eSCID the user
can disconnect the computer from the network and start to interview a subject
virtually anywhere. During an interview the user interface displays one
question at a time, including the diagnostic criteria associated with the
question. There is a section below the displayed question that enables the
clinician to input optional notes pertaining the patients response to the
question.
